I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were warm and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. My room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained throughout my stay. The location is convenient, with easy access to restaurants and transportation. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with plenty of options. Overall, I felt very relaxed and well taken care of — I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.

We stayed at this hotel during our trip to Flushing and were really happy with our choice. The location couldn’t be more convenient, it’s right on one of the busiest streets, surrounded by great restaurants and even some late-night BBQ stands. Getting around was super easy too. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed for four days and three nights. The first night, the room wasn’t very soundproof and we could hear our neighbors arguing, but once we mentioned it to the staff, they took care of it right away. The rest of the nights were much quieter. Occasionally, we could hear airplanes passing by, but it wasn’t a big deal at all. Although some parts of the hotel feel a bit dated, everything was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Considering the price, it’s definitely a great value, we’d happily stay here again next time we visit Flushing!

I stayed here for about 2 weeks and was very satisfied with the experience. The hotel is described as "unfussy" on google which I feel is accurate, it's a simple and functional lodging that should serve all your basic needs. Check in: I did my reservation through Booking and the process of checking in was simple, the front desk people also speak English well so they can answer any questions needed. Room: I was in a one-person room with the queen sized bed, it was actually somewhat spacious even for a big person like me. Unfortunately the view out the window wasn't glamorous at the time due to construction happening across the street; this also meant that there was a lot of noise during the mornings, but the room is fairly soundproof so this wasn't an issue. There is an AC/heater unit but it's weak, opening the window helps with cooling down a lot. Room cleaning service is request by using a touchpad by the door to indicate the room status which was useful, they would make the bed nice, replace all towels, replenish the free soaps, clean the toilet, and take out the trash. The bathroom itself was okay, though I wasn't a big fan of the toilet's low bowl level and the very weak shower water pressure. Location: this hotel is basically at the corner of downtown Flushing, about a 30 second walk to Tangram mall, and a ~10 minute walk to the LIRR which can take you to Manhattan in a little over 20 minutes. I never felt unsafe in our outside the hotel, I've come across a few families staying here during my stay too. For the price, I think this is a good location. Elevator: For some reason, the 2 elevators here take an extra ~10 seconds on floor arrivals for the doors to open. Not a big deal, but something everyone will notice when staying here. Free breakfast is offered from 7:30 - 10 AM but I didn't get around to trying it so I can't comment. The check out process was as simple as check-in, the front desk people make the process fast and easy. If I'm ever in Flushing

Clean spacious rooms, quiet too! Basic breakfast, but that was not a priority for us. Location looks a little rough but we had no issues as 2 women staying there by ourselves.

If you are looking for a budget option that close to New York City the John Hotel was a great stay. The room was clean and the staff were nice. The hotel was about 2 blocks from the subway and 1 block from the bus stop. We stayed 4 nights and used the subway into the city everyday. On the day we left we took the city bus to the airport. There were plenty of places nearby to eat as well. And let’s be honest if you are in New York it’s to see the sites not sit in the hotel room. Myself and a friend traveled for our birthday. I felt safe in the neighborhood and at the hotel.

I’ve been getting a room here once a week for the past 3 months, and I can honestly say I’ve never had an issue. The front desk staff are always respectful and make check-in and check-out super easy. They serve breakfast in the morning it's pretty basic, but there’s a good variety and everything is always clean. I’ve stayed in different rooms on different floors, and while not all of them have a full wall mirror (my only real complaint), every room has been very clean and odor-free The prices are also really affordable compared to other places nearby. If you’re driving, just keep in mind that parking in the area is pretty limited. Overall, it’s a really good place if you need a room

John Hotel is a hidden gem in downtown flushing. Stayed here with some friends for a trip to NYC and it was an excellent experience. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and looked good, but there were a couple issues with them. Firstly, in the showers the knob is across form the door, which means to turn on the water you must be standing in the shower. This is a nitpick but it means you're likely to get splashed by some cold water when you turn on the shower. Also, at night the flat screen in our room would turn on and off randomly. It was on mute though so it didn't really bother me, and it never woke me up. Room service was prompt and they cleaned well, no comments. The location is incredible. Dozens of food places within a block, including some really budget-friendly options. It's also only a few blocks down from the 7 train, which can take you virtually anywhere you need to go. All of this plus the great budget pricing of the place make it a great option for people looking to stay in downtown flushing.

Delta delays twice my flights, so they ask me to choose an hotel around LGA. This one is great, a big room (we are 4 people) all equipped with kitchen and utensils. They don’t make me wait for ever to check in… we were tired and frustrated because of the flight delay. The neighborhood is the Chinese place in Queens, really great! Well communicated, there’s a Target two blocks from the hotel, subway station 5’ walking and plenty of dinners around.

No nonsense. Nice place to stay for the price.
